London hosted its first ever ASF in 2011 under the auspices of His Grace Bishop Vahan Hovhanessian along with a group of dedicated volunteers, and it has now become an annual event. His Grace Bishop Hovakim Manukyan is proud to continue this tradition.
The ASF is a celebration of our culture, history, identity and faith. Each year, the festival offers a comprehensive programme of music including folk, classical and religious, along with traditional Armenian dancing. There are also delicious home-made foods, market stalls and activities for children.
This year was held in North Acton Playing Fields: Noel Road, Acton, London W3 0JF, having outgrown its previous location in Iverna Gardens, Kensington.
Every year it attracts more and more people having hosted many dignitaries as well as the President of the Armenian Republic.
The Festival creates a great opportunity for the Armenian Community and it’s friends to get together and do what Armenians do best, HAVE FUN. With popular Armenian music, concerts by well-known artists, cultural artefacts, stalls of varying merchandise, drinks and FANTASTIC FOOD the Gardens are filled with joy and laughter from 12 till 7pm. Many volunteers from far and wide help in creating this wonderful day.
The proceeds after expenses go to ACT UK which is a charitable trust set up to maintain the cost of running our Churches and their staff. This trust is fully transparent and open to scrutiny to anyone who wishes.
